We understand government and business

The lost art of communications…

I sometimes wonder if statements in the press made my politicians, businessmen and other social media commentators have actually been pre-rehearsed or at least something that was clearly thought out before it is made? Can we afford to say the wrong things in the media and get away with it when millions of social media junkies are ready to pounce with the vigour and tenacity of a kangaroo court casting a guilty verdict before the facts are laid out for consideration. I think we need to take stock of our communications technique and I am still a firm believer that anything worth saying in public must be accompanied by a good measure of body language and authenticity. Perhaps this is an era where talking less and doing more will give us more mileage with all our stakeholders be it the “rakyat”, our customers, and those who rely on leaders to make the right choices for our country. In the end, people only see what you do and that becomes the true measure of our capabilities in overcoming the challenges faced in this country…
